Europaphiles,
Does anyone have a list of the subcontractors (U.S., U.K., E.U.) that
Europa used? Nuts, bolts, screws, bearing, rod-ends and all that
assorted hardware is available through companies like ACS, Wickes and
many others. Landing gear structure, engine mounts, wings, cockpit
modules, etc can only be obtained from those who have the needed
tooling.
Would there be any possibility that an individual or group of
individuals (through The Europa Club, for instance) could approach the
subcontractors to obtain needed parts and/or spares for their kits?
For instance, I have not received my plexi windscreens. I know there
was a U.S. company that produced them for Europa U.S. If the name and
contact information for the provider were known, I could contact them
directly to request a set of windscreens. Or, if it is not feasible
for them to produce a one-off, I could find out what a minimum product
run would be and I could locate others who need windscreens and perhaps
we could assemble a minimum order.
Perhaps some of the Europa folks could assemble this information for us.
Just some ideas.
Good building and great flying,
Bob Borger
