Have you the trim system set to neutral and mid range? The little trim
tabs have the capability of deploying huge forces since the stabilators
are "all flying control" Until you have the feel of the pitch trim
sensitivity you will think the pitch is heavy. Since the pitch trim
motor is quite speedy you only require small "dabs" of power to it to
get a balanced trim control load.
Some can't hack the fast trim and have introduced a slower circuit
facility from the Allen Co. to either replace the Europa supplied relay
deck or similar.
I had a defective relay deck but for a long while they were saying it
was a a connection problem but then discovered it was the type of points
they used in the relay getting dirty. They sent me a replacement relay
and Bingo, problem gone. However to illustrate my point, if this
phenomenon occurred in flight the only way I could clear it was to allow
the trim to go all the way to the end limiter, initially I tried to hold
the controls against the forces but was so concerned about the loads I
then allowed the aircraft to do as the trim tabs were demanding until it
reversed back from the limiter to normal flight, making sure I stopped
it at the right place instead of needing to back off again! Of course
the forces are still present in the stabilators and trim tabs when this
happens but not right back to the control column. All quite scary really
but sorted out now.
It would be a major challenge to land the aircraft with the trim system
on maximum position either way.

As a low time pilot that is enjoying his finished toy, I have noticed
the pitch forces are quite a bit greater than that of the aileron.
Thats while sitting on the ground or in the air at maneuvering speeds.
Reading other plane reviews over the years authors have noted this to
not be good or desirable.
I on the other hand haven't found it annoying but am wondering if other
Europas are like this. None of the push rods seem to be rubbing
anywhere. Is their any lubricant others have used and if so where has
it had the best effect? Any Ideas or advice would be appreciated.
