Since the aircraft will be travelling backwards, if I were you, I would 
build a device on the trailer itself that restrains rudder movement.  
That way, you will not be relying on another part of the aircraft to 
take the strain.  Ideally, I think I would also build an enclosure for 
the rudder and at least part of the tailplane to enter to protect it 
---From winds while travelling.
