Just remember that the strength comes from the glass, not the wood. The
wood is there just to keep the glass layers on the bottom and top of the
spar separated, so that all spar bending forces are converted into
compression and tension forces acting on these glass layers.
Apart from the Redux I think in this case I would reinforce the affected
area with two or three layers of uni tapered down over the surface just
to restore the original tension strength. Redux is a nice filler but I
think the tension strength might leave something to be desired.
