I rig and derig the airplane for every flight and I follow the very same
procedure as described by Roddy. It is no problem at all. I always rig
the tailplanes without any help (my wife has another task during that
stage of rigging). I can't imagine how changes to the TS05 guidance
could make the procedure easier: you still have to guide the TS05 to the
lug. And the sideways play of the TS05 actually helps as you can now
separate inserting the TS05 from aligning the tailplane on the torque
tube. If the TS05 could not move sideways you have to aligh everything
at the same moment which would make it much more complicated.
Furthermore my feeling is that this is a "no-mess" area. Anything put
there might break loose and jam the tailplane and trim, which I'm sure
is no fun flying. What isn't there can't break loose. Just keep it
simple here.
