Interesting. Even with the moved rad pipe that is very close!

I was hoping some one would know of a compatible replacement. Will 
investigate your suggestions although I have kindly been supplied with 
an original pump here in the UK.

Wish we knew what sort of car it was originally fitted to, probably some 
type of Opal.
