The following new product item appeared in the May 2002 issue of
AVIONICS NEWS magazine, a monthly publication of the Aircraft Avionics
Association and is edited for brevity.
Located in Beauzelle, France, in the heart of the Toulouse aerospace
district, REMF Avionique, a small manufacturer specializing in systems
for radio communications, ground and onboard equipment for aircraft,
and supplying solutions for medium size control towers, has announced
plans to introduce it's model XPR 250 transponder intended for use in
small aircraft. "The unit features a state-of-the-art technology
using multilayer circuits and microelectronics, and built-in alticoder.
It is 6.5 inches (165mm) long, mounts in a 2.25 inch (57mm) diameter
round cutout, with rear connections for power, antenna, and static
source", according to Michel Fourcade, managing director. The XPR 250
is currently undergoing certification. Unit primary power, weight,
transmitter output power, price, and marketing schedule were not stated.
