No your deod isn't faulty, it just looked as though you know more about it
than me.
Why not hard anodise? Sealed, hot water or dichromate is supposed to
restore fatigue strength I understand. But, does it also prevent bonding. I
don't like scuff sanding anodised parts, good way to reduce fatigue
strength one might think.
