Ivan advises (I think rightly) that the current belief is that Hard anodising
actually creates a shell which is liable to cracking. It'sd OK for some
surfaces
where vibration is not a consideration, but it is thought to be particularly
sensitive to incessant vibration and thus unsuitable for most reciprocating
engined aircraft structures.

I agree, but my guru here tells me that zinc dichromate bonds well, so that
was part of the reason for my message. I will be anodising on Monday, but am
holding
off on the zinc dichromate treatment for further advice.
