We are testing a new battery on the 912 and Jabiru which weighs only 2.8
kgs. Its only 8 amphr but has a large starting current. Should know how its
going in about a months time. Generally we have used 13 amphr batteries
which weighed 4.9 kgs and have worked well on the Europa and I would stick
with that unless I needed to save the extra 2.2 kgs ( or around 3 litres of
fuel ).
I am using 16mm starter cable on my aircraft with the battery very close to
the firewall. I know lots doing the same with good results.
