You should try an Auster... when they landed one on an aircraft carrier in the
'50's (I
think) it's rumoured that the pilot had to ask the ship to stop steaming into
wind
because he found the final approach to be interminable, and then started to move
backwards when he flared....
Unfortunately, building a Europa has the same conceptual airspeed (and sometimes
groundspeed) as the Auster cruise - but if I squint, I sometimes think that I've
got the
destination in sight.
