It would be helpful to know the nature of the material blocking the
filter. In particular was it polyethylene from the tank? Could it be
back-flushed out of the filter element, or was it adhering to it? The
object of these questions is to ascertain whether it could have
dissolved from the tank and precipitated later in the filter. This would
be most likely to be a problem in high ambient temperatures and possibly
with a lot of test running of the engine.
