Hi Karl,
SI-912-018 is the what I meant to say. Purging of the lubrication system
is needed if air got in the system. I've never heard of connecting the
in/out hoses together as you suggest.
Perhaps your oil pressure sender is at fault?

Hi Kevin,
I think you meant SI-912-10. But it doesn't tell me what to do in my
case. I did drain the oil from the hose coming out of the bottom of the
engine, but have always done that before. I'll keep handcranking.

Karl,
Follow the Rotax Service Instructions SI-912-020, SI-914-021 I
get them at www.rotaxowner.com
If you introduced air into the system and do not then properly purge
the system, severe engine damage could result.

Subject: Europa-List: Oil change question
I don't usually have a problem with getting the oil pressure back
after an oil change, but this time I seem to have an airlock.
I was going to bypass the tank and connect the in/out hoses together
and crank the engine for a few seconds (I am not using ignition).
Is that okay ?
Thanks for any input.
