Paul,

You're dead right. I logged into the Europa Club's website and found on page 5-6
under Pre-take off check list (vital actions) this: Flaps Check 18 down. On
page 2-1 under Limitations, all that is shown for flaps is Max. Flap extension
speed (VFE ) 83kts.

However my math abilities don't extend to calculating a Vfe for 18 degrees 
extension,
but thanks anyway for your involvement.
