| Although these are continuously rated, they run very hot after a while. After 10 minutes on the test bench my sample from RD was too hot to touch. Eventually the mounting bracket gets hot. I intend to use the contactor for the starter only and a 40A relay for the other feeds, this runs at a much lower coil current. This way the main contactor is only used to isolate the battery in an emergency such as a starter solenoid jamming. |
