Has anyone thought of connecting a couple of small tubes protruding slightly
---From above or below the radiator (classic cowl) to blow cool air through the
inside of the fireproof tubes which we enclose the fuel lines in? That way
the fuel lines will always be maintained at O.A.T. whenever the prop is
turning.
Seems worth a try?

The height is crucial of course.
The hesitations under discussion certainly allow putting on the electric
pump and changing over to use a second filter. This saved the day for me
---From 1500' agl. in my second incident reported in 1998.
IMHO air problems due to vapour lock, bubbles and even leaks would
disappear
if the tank were not vented to air, but maintained at positive pressure
(regulated electric air pump ?) instead. The original forward facing vent
followed this theme, but was later negated by the addition of the water exit
hole.
However I have had no sign of such problems since lowering the under-cowl
temp. with louvres in the top of the cowl.
