Alan Stewart writtes:
<<1/ The sheer weight of the aircraft. Getting on and off the trailer has
been a struggle.>>
Use a boat winch.
<<2/ Concern over damaging and scratching the wings during the process. The
position of the original trailer 'uprights' has been a issue >>
Use properly padded large formed supports instead of the rubber loops.
<<3/ Transportation of the aircraft runs the risk of fuselage damage. It has
tended to rock from side to side, rubbing against the wings in their stored
position.>>
Mount padded blocks on the inner faces of the wing supports closing the gap
to the fuselage at the hard points. Ensure the fuselage is strapped down to
the trailer base, and the outriggers are strapped across the top to steady
the wings
<<4/ The position of the original exhaust pipe has interfered with loading
and unloading onto the monowheel ramp>>
I had to cut progressively more off the ramp top, as the exhaust system
descended with time, as discussed here earlier. The winch, with a suitable
U-frame can make raising the ramp easy single-handed too.
