Our plane is nearly ready for first flight.
One on the last items on our list of
things to do is 'fix fuel leak'. There
is a smell of fuel in the plane, but we
cannot find the source. We have put
fluorescent dye in the fuel (auto fuel)
and used a black light, with no avail,
we can't seem to find it. We have
tightened, and re-tightened every
fuel hose clamp.
The hoses to the tank itself seem
the most likely culprits. What have
other builders done with the hoses
going onto the tank outlets, tank
filler, and tank vent tubes?
Have you put the hoses on dry
or with some kind of sealant?
