I think that understates the case on the "life saver" aspect, Tony. I
know from experience that under IFR there's a finite adjustment period
getting on the gauges, even where you know the cloud base is coming
real soon now, and w/o the antecedent anxiety of being caught VFR in
marginal conditions. It must be a panel unit, and function as well as
the (now, and for years to come) big $$ units. Else it's just
something, for VFR, to show off at a fly-in.
