I agree with your plea for simplicity, but you have omitted the 2 in line
filters
immediately after the tank outlets, and the Mini-Gascolator should be before
the auxiliary fuel pump, in my view.
My aircraft has now done 60 hrs and I have no significant debris in any filter
- none whatsoever in the Mini-Gascolator. As you say, it all depends on getting
the tank thoroughly clean before initially fuelling it. In my case, fitting
an Avalec fuel monitor was an enormous help - because there was a nice big wide
hole after cutting the tank top for the Andair probe.
