Hypothesis:

We've established that the cockpit is of lower pressure than the rest of the
interior fuselage.  That air rushes in from the lever slots, torque tube hole
and NACA vents.  As air is entering the cockpit, it must have an exit point, or
it would be static pressure and nothing would come out of the vents, lever
slots, etc.

With the outside air passing over the top of the fuselage, this would create a
lower pressure area.  The gas struts push the doors outward, as does the
airstream passing around them. Does air enter from the door seals?  If not,
might the doors be the the likely exit point?

Rain would not come in, becuase of the labrynth ledge/seal and the outgoing air.
So - is there really a need for further low pressure exit for cabin air?
