Did you see my earlier reply? I guess it was never described properly
because of the strength considerations remarked on by Nigel. I still think
its OK, although a simple answer might be to put the peg on the door sill
and the recess in the door. The door has very little strength anyway. I
would strongly recommend boxing in the sill, it's definitely not rigid
enough and its needed for climbing in and out. Very little weight penalty.
