My insurance company required that I get 2 hrs. in a Liberty before they wo
uld insure me. It is supposedly close to a Europa. It is worth flying one s
o you realize how lucky we are to be flying Europas.

Subject: SV: Europa-List: A question to the American "Europeans"
Bob,
Yes, such is the world sometimes! I read your reply to mean that there is n
o FAA requirement, but one may certainly wish to receive training (which, a
s you explain, is difficult to get).
In Norway, we have the similar restriction =93 no commercial use and
no schooling in an amateur-built aircraft. Therefore, if my license should
expire, I cannot do the skill test for license renewal in my own Europa. I
must rent an airplane from a flying club. In their wisdom (such as it may b
e), our CAA do permit the mandatory get-familiar-with-this-particular-aircr
aft training with a CFI in the particular amateur-built aircraft. But no pa
id or unpaid training for any other purpose in any amateur-built aircraft.

Svein
