No scientific evidence. My guess was that some engine air would get
sucked up into the nosegear hole and past the bulkhead. I wanted to vent
this as opposed to it getting sucked into the cabin.
Also i wanted to ventilate any posible gas seepage.
I get a good breeze in through the naca vents on the cabin sides about knee
level.
I have a co detector in the cabin which has never alarmed.
The cabin exhausts i think through the throttle slot and doors.
