Hi! Steve.
---From memory of MKI Build the tank TOP must be as close to the main head rest
structural cross member as possible to leave the underside of the LEDGE of
the widest part of the tank HIGH ENOUGH FOR THE WING SPA'S TO ACCESS THEIR
CORRECT POSITION. The problem is that you will be installing the tank with
the cockpit module upside down and you need to focus on the above statement
as if it were right way up. When you put the glass to the curved bottom of
the tank as instructed it will closely fit the tank and so not be likely to
move and fret anyway, but you will have a "bad hair day " if when the module
is installed in the fuselage and you find the spa's don't have sufficient
clearance of the overhanging section of tank to insert them into place!
BTW I don't recall my manual calling for foam on top of the tank especially
since I have a copper fuel pipe running across it under the main headrest
member. I guess a lot of these factors are affected if you intend flying
INVERTED !!??
Hope this helps?

Subject: Jumbo fuel tank
Hi all, I'm up to installing the fuel tank. I can get the 2 cm step so the
tank does not touch the underside of the fuselage. When I set the space the
top of the tank is flush to the bottom of the head rest area. I see pictures
and read in the manual about putting wedges of foam in this area to set the
lower gap. I'm not worried about having it flush with the head rest. I'm
worried about not having the foam on top and the tank fretting over time.
Has
the tank been resized? Is it OK not to have a foam filled gap on top?
